THE STANDARD SPECIFICATION
General: Heavy duty hand laid GRP hull, gelcoat in off white
with moulded-in dark blue coloured gelcoat sheerline and boot-top line.
Bilges limbered and drained to deep central sump.
Hull: Shoal draft 0.95m (3’1”) long keel moulded in one piece,
LEAD ballast being polyester encapsulated into keel, there are no
moving parts needed to achieve the shoal draught. Alternatively a
deeper keel of 1.35m (4’5”) is available. Hull epoxy primed and
antifouled. Cathodic protection. Moulded-in anti slip deck and toe
rail. Low maintenance PVC rubbing strake.
Interior: Finished in teak veneered marine grade plywood
with solid cappings. Upholstery covered in a choice of high grade
fabrics. Berth cushions 100mm (4”) thick. Cabin sides lined with carpeting. Vinyl insulation adjacent to window
areas and vinyl clad ply panels to deckheads.

Sails and Rigging: Mast and Boom in silver anodised aluminium
with 6mm stainless steel standing rigging and terylene running
rigging. Mainsail with three reefs on single line slab reefing boom
with two reefs made off, lines led back to cockpit. Main halyard led
back to cockpit. Aluminium boom vang with downhaul tackle led back to
cockpit. Roller reefing genoa. Windex wind indicator.
Deck Equipment: Self-tailing size 30 genoa winches. Main sheet track
aft of tiller head. Stainless steel double guard wires on
stanchions. Stainless steel walk through pulpit and pushit. Twin bow
rollers mounted in stainless steel bowsprit, 10kg. (22lb) self stowing
anchor with 30 metres of chain. Deck locker for anchor chain. Two bow, two spring and two stern
cleats. Stainless steel shroud and stay plates. Coachroof handrails.
Ensign staff and socket on stern rail. Four fenders with tails. Two 12
metre mooring warps. Two winch handles. Navigation lights to
international regulations.
Engine: Yanmar 2YM20F (28hp) 3 cylinder, freshwater cooled
diesel. Calorifier for pressurised hot water. Anti-vibration flexible
engine mountings. Low maintenance stern gland. Three bladed propeller.
Water cooled exhaust system with water lock/muffler. 60amp alternator.
Two heavy duty batteries with blocking diode switching.
Engine compartment heavily sound insulated. 136 litres (30 galls.)
tanks, fuel tank with meter, water tank with metre.
Forward Cabin: Vee berth with extra length to port. Hanging
locker at head of starboard berth. Vee berth infill, stowage step.
Deck head locker forward which also acts as a TV Locker. Generous
stowage under berths, watertight collision bulkhead located in forward
section. Ventilation/Access hatch in deck head. Two fixed aluminium
framed windows. Curtains. Wooden door to the saloon. Two bulkhead
lights. Teak and holly sole.
Saloon: To starboard is a nominal 2
metre (6’7”) “U” settee with stowage below. The central table folds
down to form a lee board at sea when the settee becomes a double
berth. Bookshelf/caves are formed in both forward and aft bulkheads.
Opposite the heads is a hanging locker. Aluminium framed
ventilation/access hatch in deck head. Four fixed aluminium framed
window with curtains. Four bulkhead lights, down light over table and
over galley. To portside is a settee berth with foot box in forward
bulkhead. Storage under and behind. Teak and holly cabin sole.
Heads: To port with marine WC, pressurised hot and cold water,
wash basin with shower hand set, mirror. Cupboard for
toiletries, toilet roll holder, towel holders, light over wash basin,
shower tray drains to
automatic bilge pump. Outboard of WC is wet oilskin stowage with
drainage into shower tray. Aluminium framed opening porthole.
Optionately available Two hinged roof ventilation/observation
hatches.
Wheelhouse: Enclosed with rear bulkhead and doors, through
vision is provided by windows in upper section of doors and side
bulkhead sections. Five aluminium framed safety glass windows. Foot locker for standing
on when it is desired to steer with head and shoulders through hatch.
To starboard, upholstered helmsman’s seat with side safety rail. Wheel
with single lever engine control. The wheel steering controls rudder
through Morse/Teleflex gear and there is a latch near the tiller in
the cockpit to easily disengage the wheel, to gain the full “sailing”
feedback of tiller steering. Behind the windscreen is a traditional
half admiralty sized forward facing chart table with chart stowage,
dedicated instrument panel above for choice of optional. Compass, echosounder and
speed/distance log. Engine instrument panel complete with hours
counter, key switch, tachometer, audible and visual alarms for high
engine temperature, oil pressure and charging. Large cupboard below helmsman’s seat. To
port in wheelhouse is position for galley with stainless
steel sink, hot and cold pressurised water and gimballed gas cooker.
When not in use the cooker slides outboard to port to provide knee
space for the seated “Mate”. Below cooker
position is a cave for stowage. Below wheelhouse sole
is further stowage. Light to chart table, two bulkhead lights and 12
volt socket outlet. Two windscreen wipers. Fire extinguisher. Teak
and holly sole.
Cockpit: The cockpit level has been raised to provide good self
draining with double drains. A washboard fits below doors. At aft end
of the cockpit is folding cockpit table set into GRP side hinged
access hatch. There are two bilge pumps, a manual bilge pump operated
from cockpit and an electric bilge pump with automatic/manual
switching. In the aft section of quarter deck is a hinged hatch giving
access to deck locker for 2 gas bottles, (If a gas cooker is chosen
rather than the standard Dutch diesel cooker). Drainage through stern. A
standard tiller serves the rudder. Rudder-blade is out of harm’s way
below the canoe stern. On the stern is a folding stainless steel
bathing/safety ladder. A tailor made cockpit canopy transforms cockpit
into an additional “cabin”, this canopy can remain erected with panels
rolled up to allow normal control of sheets and tiller whilst
protected from rain, wind (and sun if you want).
